Rom 12:9-13

In this sermon on Romans 12:9–13, Pastor Jeremy starts by sprinting back through Romans 1–11 as a set of “preflight warnings,” making sure we understand what God has already done before we touch any list of how to live. He then works through Paul’s commands as a response because of the gospel rather than an attempt to earn it, beginning with genuine, sacrificial love that doesn’t depend on whether the other person has earned it. From there he walks through hating what is evil without blurring the lines, outdoing one another in honor, and being so stirred by the Spirit that our lives can’t sit still. He closes on rejoicing in hope through real trials, meeting the practical needs of the church family, and showing hospitality to outsiders — remembering we were all once on the outside ourselves.
