Community Group Connect is the next step to getting connected into a Community Group at Eastmont. This event gives you the opportunity to hear the vision behind Community Groups, learn what group life looks like, and begin the process of becoming a part of a group. Registration is required to attend Community Group Connect.

COMMON QUESTIONS

  • Community Groups are where people experience gospel transformation in a biblical community.  A Community Group is a home gathering made up of 8-16 people who meet weekly (some groups transition to every other week after the first semester) to share, study, and support one another. Community Group Leaders are trained and supported by the Eastmont staff and the Community Group team.  

  • Community Groups meet on various nights of the week in homes throughout Central Oregon.  They are semester-based.  At the end of each semester, you will have the choice of staying in the same group, trying a new group, or even taking a break.  Most groups stay together throughout the entire year and often change up their meeting rhythms during the summer.

  • Joining a Community Group requires an 8-10 week commitment to attend scheduled meetings. Your commitment is a key component of a strong Community Group. We encourage you to be in just one group for the semester.  If you sign up for a group and decide it’s not a good fit for you, let us know and we’ll help you find another one!

  • Groups start out with several introductory lessons and then transition to sermon-based studies that include personal study in the Word, listening to the weekly sermon, and then processing how it applies in our lives.

  • Life Groups are mainly for adults. We leave it up to each family to work out their own childcare. Sometimes it works best for families to share a sitter or to swap childcare with another family whose Community Group meets on a different evening.  [There are some groups who choose to bring their kids to the meetings —you can reach out to one of the team leaders if you want more information.]
