Romans 7:7-12

Pastor Blaine explains that the law itself is not sinful; rather, it reveals the depth of our sin. Using Paul’s example of coveting, he shows how the law exposes what is already in the human heart and even provokes rebellion in our sinful nature. The problem is not God’s commands but our condition. The law is holy, righteous, and good, but because of sin it brings awareness of guilt and ultimately death. Blaine emphasizes that the law functions like a mirror—it shows us our need but cannot fix us. The message drives listeners to recognize their inability to save themselves and their need for Christ, who alone provides the righteousness and life the law could never produce.
