Romans 8:23-25

Pastor Jeremy taught from Romans 8:18–25, focusing on how both creation and humanity “groan” under the weight of sin and brokenness, yet believers groan differently because they have the Holy Spirit as a promise of future glory. He emphasized that suffering is not meaningless but is part of God’s process to shape us into the likeness of Christ, calling Christians to develop a right theology of suffering rather than trying to escape it. Through the tension of the “already but not yet,” he explained that while believers are already adopted, saved, and redeemed, they still await the full realization of those promises—especially the redemption of their bodies. Ultimately, he pointed listeners to a hope not rooted in present circumstances but in the future glory secured by Jesus’ death and resurrection, urging them to endure suffering with an eternal perspective, patient faith, and confident hope in Christ.
