Romans 2:25-29

In this sermon on Romans 2:25–29, Pastor Blaine explains that outward religion—whether circumcision, baptism, or moral performance—cannot save us, because salvation is a matter of the heart. Paul dismantles the false assurances of heritage, the law, and religious rituals, showing that true belonging to God is inward and Spirit-driven. Using examples from Acts 10 and Peter’s encounter with Cornelius, he emphasizes that there are only two groups of people: the redeemed and the unredeemed. Real faith produces humility and confidence—not arrogance or despair—because our standing before God rests entirely on Christ’s finished work, not our effort. The call is to abandon false religion, trust Jesus fully, and live marked by both deep humility and bold confidence in Him.
