Romans 4:1-8

In this sermon, Pastor TJ teaches from Romans 4:1–8 on the doctrine of justification by faith alone, using Abraham’s life as the prime example that righteousness is received through belief, not earned through works. He traces Abraham’s story from God’s call in Genesis 12 to the testing of his faith with Isaac, showing that Abraham’s trust—not his deeds—was credited to him as righteousness. Pastor TJ explains that salvation is a free gift from God through Jesus Christ, whose perfect righteousness is imputed to believers. He contrasts this grace with the futility of trying to earn God’s approval and reminds the church that justification brings freedom, humility, and joy. Ultimately, Pastor TJ calls listeners to rest in the finished work of Christ, allowing their faith to grow as they more clearly see and trust who God is.
