Community Groups
Eastmont Community groups meet in homes throughout Central Oregon on various days and times during the school year. The make-up of community groups varies. There are “mixed” groups (men, women, singles & marrieds, all ages & stages in life). There are also groups for young marrieds, singles, empty nesters, young families and men. In these groups Eastmont folks come together to explore scripture, grow in their faith and cultivate deeper community.
Facilitator
What is a Community Group Facilitator?
Facilitating a group involves leading a small group (about 6-14 people) weekly (and some groups meet twice a month). Groups launch in the fall and typically end when school gets out for the summer (some groups opt to meet in the summer monthly for bbq’s…). Eastmont Church believes that followers of Christ are not only to be hearers of the Word but doers of the Word as well (James 1:22-25). Our aim is to “consider carefully how you [we] listen…” (Luke 8:18). For this reason, our community groups are predominantly sermon-based community groups where we get together to dig into the weekend teaching more deeply to discuss and apply it personally.. As a facilitator you will prepare for your group in advance and send out regular communications to your group. Study questions will be emailed to you Sunday evenings that you can use to guide your group bible study. Please prayerfully consider this opportunity.
If you are interested in facilitating and/or hosting a Bible Study, please complete the form below. We’ll follow up with you to begin the interview process. If you have any questions in the meantime, feel free to reach out to davidp@eastmontchurch.com.
Expectations for a Facilitator:
3 hours/week (for the weeks your group meets)
Agree to Eastmont Church’s Statement of Faith and be unified in its Distinctives
6 months - 1 year attendance at Eastmont Church preferred
Communicate often with your co-facilitator or host (if you have one)
Participate in Basic Facilitator Training and Equip Nights
Encourage and pray for the members of your group
Utilize the questions the community groups coordinator emails you Sunday evenings to guide the discussion time
Touch base with your group weekly
