Small Groups

Belonging to a Small Group could change your life!

Do you feel disconnected? Are you lonely? Are you new to Eastmont and don’t know anyone? Have you been at Eastmont for a time, but still don’t feel connected? You can eliminate any of these problems by signing up for a Small Group. Small Groups provide you with the opportunity to get to know people, to be involved in a caring, non-threatening atmosphere. You will share with others, and have fun. Your life will be enriched with new friends and a deeper understanding of God’s Word. Don’t wait any longer.

What is grouplink?
grouplink is an event where you can meet and connect with others to start a small group. Small groups meet weekly in someone’s home for fellowship, Bible study, and prayer.

At grouplink, we don’t place you in a group, you attend and choose your own.

We ask you to initially commit to meeting with your group for six weeks. You will spend that time getting to know each other and doing a short Bible study together. At the end of the six weeks, you can choose to continue with your group, or you can attend the next grouplink to join a new group.

Purpose Statement
The Small Group Ministry provides opportunities for all Eastmont members and attendees to meet in an informal home situation with other members and attendees in groups of 6-14 members to share in devotions and to pray for each others’ concerns, as well as engaging in a variety of social activities and service projects.

Times and Dates
Some groups meet weekly, other groups meet bi-weekly, and other groups meet monthly at various nights of the week. Most groups meet from September through June, while some groups meet throughout the year. Most groups meet in the early evening hours for two to three hours.

Meeting Description
Some groups meet for devotions and prayer time and dessert, and occasionally have a potluck
dinner. Other groups always have a potluck dinner, followed by devotions and prayer time. All groups are encouraged to participate in all-church study programs, such as “40 Days of Purpose.” Otherwise, groups choose their own devotional topics or studies from a variety of study materials provided in the church library.

Highlights of Areas of Ministry
This ministry follows the precepts of the early church: “And day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.” Acts 2:46-7 NAS
