They say your true friends are those you would call for help at two in the morning. Well, a couple of years ago, I found these were the men I met and prayed with every week. Over time, we developed a sense of trust. Friendships became anytime … anywhere.
Do you have an anytime, anywhere friend? Ask yourself, “If I consider all my relationships with other men, who is my best friend?” If your answer is someone you played football with back in high school, or an old fraternity brother you haven’t heard from in years, or a guy you knew ten years ago, you need something more—you need real friends! Even if you already have good friends, you can use Mini-groups to deepen those current friendships and grow stronger in Christ! Give it a try.
Men's Mini-Groups
A Mini-group is a low-maintenance, high-impact vehicle designed to deepen Christian relationships and strengthen our common bond in Christ. It offers us a chance to know God, ourselves, and others better while soaking up God’s Word, praying for real needs and actively challenging one another to be the best we can be—without taking too much time.
The common tool is a simple, easy to use sheet called the Guys’ Grab It and Go! There’s one for every week of the month. All you need do is agree to meet with a friend or two (the guys from your small group, friends from Bible study or your ministry area, or maybe it’s a guy from work or even a neighbor). Simply print the handout, get together, then walk through the day’s questions and topic. Do breakfast or lunch together, meet at the coffee shop or share a park bench—it doesn’t matter. It’s relatively painless and you’ll be surprised how you’ll grow. Please pray about it then invite someone to join you.
